DELE exams - General Information What are the DELE exams? The DELE exam is an examination carried out by The Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry for Education and Science. The exam is created and evaluated by the Instituto Cervantes (in cooperation with the University of Salamanca) so the DELE certificate is the best official and internationally validated proof of your Spanish skills. How is the exam? The DELE exams are divided in four different parts (except C2 level): 1. Comprensión de lectura (reading): 25 points 2. Comprensión auditiva (listening): 25 points 3. Expresión e interacción escritas (writting): 25 points 4. Expresión e interacción oral (speaking): 25 points The maximum score is 100 points and you need a passing score in each part: 1. Reading + writting: 30 points out of 50. 2. Listening + speaking: 30 points out of 50. Every part of the exam has different tasks, this will depend on the level you are on, but to have a previous idea the DELE A1 has the next structure: Reading: 4 different tasks with 25 items. time: 25min. To get ready for a DELE exam, you have to keep in mind where you start from:


1. If you already speak Spanish and want to get ready for the level [that] fits you better.
2. If you do not speak Spanish and want to learn it and get ready prepare  (or: while preparing) for a DELE exam.

In the first case, what I would recommend you to do* is to get used to the exam by practising with real official exams or with a private tutor who is experienced on has experience with DELE exams.
On the other hand, if you want to get a DELE certificated and you are not in the level you want to go for, you can sign for a Spanish course or practise online or in your city. Make sure the methodology is focused on doing taking a DELE exam.
