San Mao In need help translating this into Mandarin. Thanks in advance. Sanmao was a chinese writer. She made Spain and Western Sahara known in China. She was born in 1943 in Chongqing (center of China), near the river Yangtse. Then, the writer emigrated with her family to Taiwan in 1949, like many chinese people, after the end of the civil war that was held in the country. She soon began to show passion for the literature. She changed her original name, Chen Maoping, to the nickname ‘San Mao’. San Mao was educated, independent and traveler. She could speak German, English and Spanish fluently. She traveled seeking inspiration and experiences. She arrived in Madrid in the 60s. San Mao fell in love with Jose María Quero, an Andalusian diver from Jaén. She lived with him in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Puerto de la Cruz, the Spanish Sahara (a place they had to leave in 1975 due to the Green March and the end of the Spanish colony) and La Palma. Throughtout this period, Sanmao wrote ‘Stories from the Sahara’ and ‘Stories from the Canary Islands’. In La Palma, her husband died drowned in the sea in 1979. This was a tragedy that San Mao could not get over. She came back to Taiwan in the 80s and she took her life the 4th of January 1991. San Mao contributed to make Spain known in Asian countries such as China, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea. Currently, her work keeps attracting Asian people, who visit his husband grave in La Palma to give flower. San Mao is symbol of liberty, feminism, emancipation, fight for making projects and wishes come true. She is symbol of independency, adventure and travel.
