A great duo has been born Do you say like "a great duo has been born" when a great pianist and a great cellist make a band together? Thank you in advance!!!!

Actually the way you said it is fine. However we wouldn't say 'make a band' for classical musicians. Something like 'form an ensemble' would be more normal.
