Hi, there Could you tell me some words other than “lazy” to describe someone who doesn’t want to work hard, just wants an easy life and to make an easy buck and have fun and straight-up sit around all day doing nothing (can I say “straight-up) here? I am looking for both a word and a phrase to describe this kind of person. Something like: “He just quit his ‘job’ and moved to the beach. That’s no surprise, though. He wants nothing to do with hard work anyway. He’s always just wanted a free ride/an easy life/. He’s a slacker/bum.”. Questions: Does it sound odd to say “he’s always just wanted a free ride” or “an easy life”? What could I say instead? Are there any other informal expressions I could use here instead of "free ride" and "lazy" ? What about “That's no surprise, though. He's never wanted anything to do with work anyway”? Does that sound odd? What are other words I could substitute for these above? Thank you very much!!

I would say "Entitled" or inactive.... I would use either words after I observed the person's behavior

Sounds like he's pretty laid-back and wants an easy life, which is completely fine as long as he doesn't want to do this at another's expense. That would make him a free-rider, which wouldn't be very cash money of him.

He's a happy-go-lucky guy.
