I don't think so. Nowadays students have other options to learn other than schools or universities. The Internet allows knowledge that is organized on an optimal way to be accessed on a very granular way, whenever and wherever needed. Of course the Internet also hosts the worst information, requiring skills to actually offer its best part.
All of that said, there are areas of knowledge that benefit much less from the Internet. A surgeon would never become a surgeon no matter how good mentors nor how many thousands of hours of the best theory read one has, but only by the practice that requires specialized place and equipment.
