Is the time system in Dutch (o'clock) similar to that in English or to that in German?

It doesn't differ that much!
For example, the correct translation for "it's five o'clock" would be '"het is vijf uur".
"six o'clock" would be "zes uur", etc. However, "half (past) five" becomes "half zes" (lit. "half six").
In Dutch it is also common to use the 24h notation system instead of a.m. and p.m.
