It is better to say a train of thought = the connections that link the various parts of an event or argument together; "I couldn't follow his train of thought".
It is better to say a cooperative relationship= an involvement where people are working together willingly for a common purpose or benefit.

"train of thought" means 'something that a person is/was thinking about'.
We usually think about one thing at a time, so the word "thought" should be singular.
