"What did he get up to last night?" - what does "get up" mean here? The full context is: "He looks really tired. What did he get up to last night? Does it mean "to do something", "to be occupied with something?" Or what? Txs)

the term "get up to" refers to what you did... hmmm I wonder what he is up to ( I wonder what he is doing)...what did he get up to last night? (what did he do last night?) where did he go, who did he see... just to ask what occurred really... "Hi.. its Ashley.. what are you up to tonight?" Hope that helps...

Dear Liza, In this context, the phrase "get up to" means "What was he doing?" The person asking the question could suspect that the person in question was doing something wrong. However, it could also be that the person is simply curious to know what he was doing. I hope this helps.
