I meet you in the street = "Yo me encuentro contigo en la calle" o "Yo me encuentro con usted en la calle".

You can meet someone in two different ways: by chance or after having arranged an encounter, a meeting time and place. Thus... • ENCONTRAR means to find, namely, then, in this case, it`s realated to "finding" someone you weren`t looking for, to meet someone by chance. La encuentro en la calle (Present) - The first thing a native speaker will get is that you meet her by chance. La encontrè en la calle (Past) - You met her, but you weren`t expecting to do so. • If you mean to meet someone at a determined place and time, you may use "ver". Te veo en la calle: I meet you on the street (I`ll be waiting for you there). Nos vemos en la calle (Ok, then we`ll meet on the street). You can also paraphrase it with ESPERAR--- Te espero en la calle. Note: To use ENCONTRAR in this case is not incorrect, but way too unnatural. It sounds odd to a native speaker.
