What is the difference between 'get work' and 'get a work'? She finally concluded that she herself would try to get work in a store. What is the difference between 'get work' and 'get a work'? Thank you!

Get work = working somewhere. "Get a work" is grammatically wrong. "Get a JOB" is the same as "Finding a job" or "Finding some work" or "Get work".
