Why does the writer use 'I haven't got my bag.'to express that he couldn't find his bag? 为什么作者用‘I haven't got my bag'来表达自己找不到包,而不是用'I can't find my bag.' Thanks text: After I had had lunch at a village pub,I looked for my bag.I had left it on a chair beside the door and now it wasn't there! As I was looking for my bag,the landlord came in. 'did you have a good meal?'he asked. 'Yes,thank you.'I answered.'but i can't pay the bill.I haven't got my bag.(就是这句) The landlord smiled and immediately went out.In a few minutes he returned with my bag and gave it back to me. 'I am very sorry.'he said.'My dog had taken it into the garden. He often does this.'

It is a very commonly used phrase in English. It could mean the person just did not have their bag with them. I don't know why we use it. We just do. : )

这是新概念2的课本吧。haven't 这句表示的是完成时,指的是作者找了一阵子了。而can't句仅表示当时的情况。相比较来说前一句更好
