If I was asked to give a synopsis or summary of a book or film I would write a few hundred words detailing the writer/director/plot/actors/characters etc. Basically a review is a summary with a personal opinion flavouring to it. A synopsis/summary would not have an opinion unless the original text had one. Synopsis and summary are interchangeable.
