从来不 and 从来没 I have never been to England. 我从来没去过英国。 I have never eaten meat. 我从来不吃过肉。 Is my grammar correct? And why 没 in the first sentence but 不 in the second. Thanks for your help.

A small error in the second sentence Correction: I never ate meat. 我从来不吃肉。 No need to add "过"in the second sentence. More examples: 我从来不撒谎。I never told a lie. 他从来不逛夜店。 He never went to nightclubs. 他父母从来不表扬他。His parents never praised him. So you can tell from the above examples, "从(来)不+ V." is usually used as a past simple tense. It emphases that something never happened in the past. So if there is a "过"in this structure, which implies present perfect tense, it makes no sense. Actually the first structure should be "从(来)没+ V.+过", (mind you there is a “过” in this structure), just as your original sentence suggests, it is linked to a present perfect tense. More examples: 我从(来)没看过印度电视剧。 我从(来)没坐过过山车。 我从(来)没听过摇滚乐。

The first one 我从来没去过英国 is right, the second one should be 我从来不吃肉, no 过 in this sentence. The difference between 不 and 没 is that 不 is used to negate actions happened in the present time while 没 is used to negate actions happened in the past. So 从来没 ...indicates that action never happened in the past, particle 过 indicates a past experience. 我从来不吃肉is translated to ""I never eat meat"

The first sentence is right. We dont say 不吃过 . "never eaten" We say "没(mei)吃过"

从来不是指没做过,将来也不会去做。从来没是指以前没有过,但不保证以后也不会。
