Also if u want use this grammar with other verbs ->>>
V+지 마세요
술을많이 마시지 마세요. - Dont drink too much.
마시다=마시+지 마세요. (drink)
Also there are different polite form->>>
V+지 마
V+지 마세요
V+지 마십시오 - most polite form

you can say 하지마 to younger or familiar people
하지마세요 is formal and is used to older people
