Is using "Watakushi" kind a traditional way of talking?

watakushi is a formal way of saying I but it's mainly girls who use it
guys use boku or a more kind of rude way ore

I do not know whether that is traditional. It is used in formal situation by all gender. But it is more natural to use "watashi".
