handicraft(s)?
i'd like to teach handicrafts
Her hobbies are music, reading and handicraft.
I took these sentences from oxford . Just wondering why we use 'handicraft' as plural in 1 and singular in 2. What is the reason then? tq

My interpretation is that 'handicraft' is the generic term for a type of activity (singular), whereas 'handicrafts' are various (unspecified) crafts (plural) which can be taught.
In daily usage, most people won't notice the difference, which makes them more or less interchangeable.
