Help me to identify this Chinese idiom? Ok, I do not have alot to go on here, but searched everywhere and failed. I wonder if you guys can help me identify this Chinese idiom. In Hainanese, Nang bu ti nang, gui(鬼) bu ti gui(鬼) alternates, Lang erm si lang, kui erm si kui (Sarawak Hokkien) Lang beh si lang, kui beh si kui (KL, Malaysia) Translation: Human not human, ghost not ghost. So yeah, a few questions:- 1) Do you know the Hainanese saying in Chinese scripts? 2) Do you have a similar saying in your country? (mainland or elsewhere) 3) Have you ever heard of this phrase? 4) What does this really mean, other than the literal translation? 5) Could you give me a few examples on how to use this idiom? Thanks =)

(ethic) 5) Could you give me a few examples on how to use this idiom?
