Cause is like a verb... to cause..
because is like a connector ..
sometimes informal english abbreviates because to cause

Just to add to Blitzy's answer...
In writing, always use "because" - don't shorten it to "cause", because the meaning will change. It's one of the more common mistakes among learners, and basically looks like sloppy writing.
