The 'ね' is an ending particle, and in that sentence it is used to affectionately confirm what was just said.

Examples:
出発はあしたでしたね You are leaving tomorrow, aren't you? 
痛くないですよね I hope it won't hurt, will it?
いいね、分かったね Okay? You understand?
