what does this english sentence mean “the scene was swarming with uniforms and investigators, dozens of them-- a lot more than a hit in Hell's Kitchen,however gruesom the cause of death, seemed to warrant.” what do "hit" "hell's kitchen" "warrant" mean here? what does the whole sentence mean?? please help me out~ thank you

In this sentence Hell's Kitchen refers to a neighborhood of Midtown Manhattan. I agree with the other two definitions.

yeah i get it now. thank you guys. actually this story happened in new york. so i assume hell's kitchen meant somewhere in ny. again , thank you all <3

Hell's Kitchen is actually a TV show. You will see if you google it. It is actually a very popular TV show. Here I think 'hit' means murder. Warrant here would mean 'justify' Do you understand now?
