plenty Can I use the word "plenty" with countable nouns? e.g. I have plenty of friends there are plenty books in the roomthere are plenty of books in the room (sorry for the misprint)

Yes. "Plenty of", "lots of", "many" are a few interchangeable words here

Plenty can be used used with countable nouns. However, plenty means more than enough. That's why I think your sentence isn't a good example of its usage. http://www.macmillandictionary.com/dictionary/british/plenty

there are plenty OF books in the room, but yes, you can, using 'plenty of'
