Can you explain to me the meaning of the word "Serves" in this phrase?
Is this the verb or something else? I can't make out it)There was some dailogue between a man and a woman.
Woman told a man that an another man had been fired. And man replied by this phrase

It means he got what he deserved. In this case, the woman is saying she thinks he should have been fired.
