向 vs 对
what's the difference between those two, when it's better to use 向， 对？
for example:
别人对我们好，帮助我们，我们应该记得说什么？
我们记住向别人说谢谢。
many thanks for your answersaand this one 为, is it the same?
我们只要想一想，就会想起别人其实为我们做过很多事.

"對" 不是 動詞 對待
"對" 是 介詞 表示動作的對象
如：「他對你說什麼？」、「我對環境不熟。」
"别人对我们好，帮助我们，我们应该记得说什么？" 適用此義
"向" 也是 介詞 表示動作的方向、對象
如：「向前看」、「向人請教」。
"我们记住向别人说谢谢。" 適用此義
"對" 和 "向" 看起來同義
但是 "對" 具有 "使兩種事物配合在一起" 之義
如：「把門對上」、「對對子」
上例句 有 "你對我好 我也對你好 大家彼此善意對待 "之義
隱含 人際交往的哲學
"向" 的古義是 北方的窗戶
有 單方面朝著某處 之義
謝謝 是單方面對人的感恩之語
答話的人不必跟說話的人也說 謝謝
"為" 有多種意義
"我们只要想一想，就会想起别人其实为我们做过很多事."
在這一句 是 "替" 的意思 也是用作 介詞
如：「為民服務」、「為國增光」。杜甫˙客至詩：「花徑不曾緣客掃，蓬門今始為君開。」
"為" 也有 "對、向" 之義
"晉˙陶淵明˙桃花源記：「此中人語云，不足為外人道也。」" 適用此義

working as prepositions, there are many differences between 对and 向:
1, 向= indicating time, place and direction
e.g. 一直向前走。
对=indicating the objects ( someone or something)
e.g. 说说你对这件事的看法。
2, 向 can be used to express " from...", but 对can not .
e.g.他向我借了自行车。
3, 对 can be used to express the relationship between people and someone/ something, means "treat" , but 向 can not.
e.g. 老师对我特别好。
sometimes, 对and 向 are interchangable when they are followed by the object of an action: e.g. 他对我笑了笑。/ 他向我笑了笑。

我觉得这里的 对 指的是对待（ treat）， 向 表示目标和方向（WHO is the one u want to thanks for）,为 的用法有点像 对， 但是 对 字的指向比 为 更明确
