About translation By "translation" here,I mean the translation from Chinese to English. Recently I have been doing some translation tasks from Chinese(my first language) to English.I always find it difficult for me to do it well. However, when I translation from English to Chinese,I can do a good job. Someone says unless you are good at English writing, you can't be a good translator.I'm so confused these days that I can't stop thinking about this problem. Can you help me?How can I manage the translation from Chinese to English? Thanks a lot.

From your writing I can tell that you have very good English skills, so I don't think you have to worry much. As Candace mentioned, the literal translation from Chinese to English often creates something unintended. I think it is best for you to understand the intent of the writer and then translate it in your own words, rather than try to translate it exactly. Of course, depending on what you are translating, you will have to use your best judgement regarding this.

I think Chinese is a more direct language than English ,so when you translate it doesn't always make sense . However I think that English speakers understand this so don't worry
