Kindergarten is the first year of school for most american students. It starts at about age 5. An "at risk kindergarten student" is a kindergarten student who is at risk of failing academically. At risk students are grouped due to circumstances that seem to lead to academic failure. These could be lower income levels in their family, low education levels of the parents and other factors,
