I think I remember seeing this combination of "còn ... nữa" which is basically a synonym, in this case, of simply putting "nữa" at the end.

Two questions:
- Is it more native to use "còn ... nữa" rather than simply "nữa" since it would tend to make the meaning clearer?
- Could you also only use "còn" here? Ví như: Ngày mai trời còn nóng hơn!

The answers for both of your questions are "Yes".

If you omit "nữa", it's still fine. People will still understand you're making a comparison (due to the word "hơn"). So "nữa" is not really important here.

It's ok if you just used "còn", "nữa" or both of them (or none of them). 
You can use them whenever you want to emphasise your opinion.
But if the sentence doesn't have "hơn" in it, it will have some differences.
"Ngày mai trời nóng" is different to "Ngày mai trời còn nóng" 
"Ngày mai trời nóng nữa" and "Ngày mai trời còn nóng nữa" is similar but don't like these sentences up there.

==>  when you wanna emphasize that tomorrow hotter than today. 
yea we usually add " còn" like a  habit. Ngày mai trời còn nóng hơn = Ngày mai trời còn nóng hơn nữa.
