Meaning of "um" German!
Sto studiando i diversi significati di "um" e ho trovato queste due frasi che non riesco proprio a capire:
1) Vier Menschen sind bei dem Unfall ums Leben gekommen;
2) er hat ihn um sein ganzes Vermögen gebracht.
Qualcuno mi sa aiutare?

These are so called set phrases, and should be memorized as a whole.
ums Leben kommen = to die, to lose one's life,
jdn. um etw. bringen = to defraud sb. of sth.
