I am sorry but repertoire does not mean "vocabulary" in English.  It would be as silly as saying that "blesser" ("hurt") means bless in English, "attendre" (wait") attend or "déception" (disappointment) deception!

As a student of English, I follow the following techniques to enrich my English vocabulary:
1- Words and their collocations. 
2- Synonymy; words have almost the same meaning. 
3- Roots and derivational morphemes. 
4- Learning words thematically.

repertoire = a stock of plays, dances, or items that a company or a performer knows or is prepared to perform.

It might be too ambitious or unrealistic for learners to try to develop a repertoire.  Meryl Streep as an award-winning actress may have a repertoire of skills in the English language, for example, but most native speakers do not.
