my question about把(part 2) my Chinese teacher told me if we want to use 把 we have to use the verb twice for one syllable verb or we should use two syllable verb. but i saw some sentences which Breached my teacher's sentence. what do you think about these sentences in my Chinese book?1_他吧垃圾倒了。2——你把烟灰擦一下儿。3——你把资料看了一遍。 I think because of 一下儿,了and 了一遍we cant use the verb twice but we can use a verb with at least two syllables, is my understanding of the this grammar correct?what do you think?

A more accurate grammar rule about 把 should be that 把+noun./pronoun can't be followed by just one Chinese character. e.g. 你把烟灰擦. is wrong. 你把烟灰擦擦 is correct. 你把烟灰擦一下 is correct

collect hundreds examples of 把 and read it frequently, you probably could get the feeling about how to use 把 in sentence naturally, sometimes you dont know exactly the way to use it only because doesnt exist this grammatical structure in your maternal language, you need to plant this structure in your brain, and once you get the ´feeling´ i would say 把 sentence it´s more than easy. i would be gald to offer some. 我把蛋糕吃了。 他把时间浪费了。 她把账单付了。 你把水倒了。 小a把小b的女朋友抢了。 小c把小d的弟弟揍了。

I don't think this rule is right. You can say I have to use more than one syllable after 把,but they don't have to be all verbs. For example, 快把玻璃擦干净。这里"擦"是动词,"干净"就是形容词. .

>>>we have to use the verb twice not true 把 only puts the object before the predicate, that's all
