Another question about how to say, "take care" in Mandarin
Do you use bǎo zhòng 保重 if the person is ill and you want to wish him health?
For example, my Mandarin teacher was ill today and couldn't have the lesson, so I wanted
to say something like, "Please take care," or "take care of yourself"
I tried to write to her: Are you sick? Take care.
你生病嗎?保重!
What do you say to someone who is sick?
Thank you!

First, usually we say "多保重" when we say bye to someone or when we feel someone looks poor in health.
Then, considering your English sentence, it should be "请问你是生病了吗?。祝(or 祝愿,希望)你早日康复。" “早日康复” means "hope you will recover soon. " In fact, normally we say "我听说您生病了,请多保重身体,祝早日康复。" Because you knew she was ill already that why you wrote this letter.
Hope you find this answer useful.

Yes, ”保重” is a nice word to use.
The sentence could go like: "您生病了吗?保重身体,祝您早日康复!"
When we want to show respect or be polite, we usially use "您" instead of "你".
