"have you been" : كيف نقول
If I wanted to ask someone:
"Have you been to Turkmenistan?"

الصحيح أن تقول "هل كنت في تركمانستان؟"ا
فكلمة been معناها سافر ورجع من السفر
فمن الممكن أيضا أن تقول "هل سبق لك أن زرت تركمانستان"

when it comes to translate /have +verb/ into Arabic replace it with لقد
_ but with been it will be لقد كان - كنت - كنتم الخ

هل كنت في تركمانستان ؟ = Were you in Turkmanistan ?
هل ذَهبتَ يَومًا إلى تركمانستان ؟ = Have you ever gone to Turkmanistan ?
or you can use the verb زار or سافر
