You would use make when you are actually physically making something with your hands. "I will make a pie", "I'm making a pizza", "I made a salad" if you ask someone about their job, you could ask "What do you do?" You can ask someone "What did you do yesterday?" This asks what that person might have done, like go to the shop or the cinema. But, if you ask "What did you make yesterday? " This asks what the person actually made with their hands.

estoy de acuerdo con Simon. "make" es más similar a "fabricar" "do" es más similar to .... ocurrir Pero puede ser complicado. Se puede decir: "What did you DO yesterday?" .... .. "I MADE a cake" Porque el preguntador no sabia si el otro DID algo o MADE algo.
