questions with far / near
How far is it from here? (correct)
I wonder if I can say:
How near is it from here? (the key answer of the exercice says this is wrong) I wonder why?

It's wrong because it's wrong! 'Far' suggests 'far away' and we move away from a place.
By contrast, if you go towards a place you move nearer to it.
Near to
Far from
It's as simple as that. 'Near from' makes no sense.
