in die Hölle oder zur Hölle gehen
If we say that someone will go to the hell, it means that he'll go direct into the hell. I think that it should be translated "in die Hölle gehen".
I mean that "zur Hölle gehen" is wrong, because no one will not come just to look the exterior at the begining and then he will go in or not.

Sometimes language doesn't make sense, because expressions are old or traditional, and usage of language has changed over time. The expressions is "zur Hölle gehen", so that's what is correct. You're right that in modern German, one would say "in die Hölle gehen", just like "ins Geschäft gehen", but the expression is still "zur Hölle gehen".
