Take a look at

Relative to the earth, the sun moves from east to west, so the area of daylight does, too.
As you can see, at the moment when I am writing this, it is mid-day in Egypt, Africa, and Europe. In fact
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/egypt/cairo
tells me it is 12:26 p.m. in Cairo now.
Where I live, on the east of of the United States, we are six hours behind Cairo.
It is 6:34 a.m. and the sun has just come up.
On the West Coast of the United States, in California, it is still the middle of the night and it will be four more hours until the sun rises.
