What's the difference between these sentences?
- No one forgets his story once they hear it.
- No one forgets his story when they hear it.
- No one forgets his story as soon as they hear it.

They all seem bey similar to me, and I think you can comfortably use all three. As well as;
No one forgets his story after they hear it.
