NEED SOME HELP PLEASE !!
is the rule we use to make korean verbs into passive form the same as the one we use to make causitive verbs ?

- passive verb(피동사)
The first simple way of making a verb into passive form is appending '-아/어지다' after a verb stem.
지우다 => 지워지다
켜다 => 켜지다
The sencond way is appending one of 이, 히, 리, 기 after a verb stem.
보다 => 보이다
먹다 => 먹히다
밀다 => 밀리다
안다 => 안기다
- causitive verb(사동사)
The first way of making a verb into causitive form is appending one of 이, 히, 리, 기 after a verb stem.
녹다 => 녹이다
앉다 => 앉히다
날다 => 날리다
감다 => 감기다
* some verbs like 보이다 and 업히다 have same form in passive form and causitive form.
The second way is appending one of 우, 구, 추 after a verb stem.
깨다 => 깨우다
달다 => 달구다
맞다 => 맞추다
The third way is appending '게 하다' after a verb stem.
읽다 => 읽게 하다
A causative verb can be made from an adjective.(passive verb can be made only from a transitive verb)
높다 => 높이다
넓다 => 넓히다
낮다 => 낮추다
늦다 => 늦추다
A causative verb can be made from intransitive verb.(passive verb can be made only from a transitive verb)
삭다 => 삭이다
속다 => 속이다
죽다 => 죽이다
줄다 => 줄이다
돌다 => 돌리다
살다 => 살리다

Basically yes. These rules are usually the same.
1. An example of making the passive form.
Ex) 얼음이 녹는다 -> 아기가 얼음을 녹인다.
= The ice cube is melting. -> The baby is melting the ice cube.
2 An example of making the causitive form.
경찰이 강도를 잡았다. -> 강도가 경찰에게 잡히었다.
= The police caught the robber. -> The robber was caught by the police.
