Could you please correct the following sentence to sound natural?
It seems there is something wrong with this printer. I tried to print out this webpage, but its URL was not printed properly on the bottom of the paper. The lower half of the letters were being cut.

The lower half of the letters were cut off.
OR
The lower half of the letters are cut off.
