What is difference between "tu" and "usted" in spanish?

Usted is used for refering to someone older than you showing respect for example an elder,a buss, someone's else parent mother/father etc. And tu is the second person of the singular,you can refer to someone like tu if this person is your friend,sister,brother someone that is usually younger or the same age than you.
