one hour's notice Hello friends, I wonder what 'one hour's notice' means in this phrase. 'My mother asked me one hour’s notice to take her on an errand' In my thought, the mother check her daughter to see of she is available for one hour to run some errand... What do you think of it?

Notice here means 'warning'. The mother wants to know one hour in advance of when she will come to take her out. Landlords have to give tenants (say) one months notice of a rent increase, or (say) one weeks notice of a maintenance visit.

This is another example, when you have a job you have to give your boss 24 hours notice if you can not come to work. In this sentence the daughter was complaining that her mother only gave her one hour notice, before she had to take her to the store.
