What's the difference between 'theme' and 'motif'?
'I've got it!' he said.
'Got what?'
'The theme. The connecting link. The motif.'

" theme " is very common and used a lot. " Motif " is a word I and my friends have very very seldom used. It is very literal and used in literature.
