Expression: "All bets are off"
Hey guys!
Could you please tell me what is the implicit meaning of the expression "all bets are off".
And could I say: "All bets are off for someone/something?"
Many thanks in advance and happy holidays :)
Cheers,
Karine.

According to Urban Dictionary:
" a situation in which one factor alone can change or cancel out everything"
"The situation has drastically changed. Any guarantees, implications, or assumptions regarding its outcome no longer apply."

It means 'anything can happen'. The outcome of something cannot be predicted.
