New Year’s Resolutions – Should I Put the Apostrophe In? I have always thought that there is only one right way to punctuate “New Year's resolutions” – with the apostrophe. Until now. I have seen native English speakers writing on this site “New Years resolutions”, and I am a bit baffled now.

The apostrophe is probably the most misused and misunderstood punctuation mark in the English language. “New Year's resolutions” – with the apostrophe – is correct.
