which difference between the same word "bloquer" in two forms? I've the read the two sentences from my French textbook using the same word "bloquer" in two forms. sentence 1: La circulation est complètement bloquée entre la porte de la Chapelle et la porte Maillot. sentence 2: Tout est bloqué. There is the same link-verb "est", so I think the two sentences should use the same form "bloqué", which is the passive form of bloquer, isn't it? But actually, they use the different form. Why?

"LA circulation" is feminine. French past tense works like this; when you use a past form with "être" you have to add "e" if the subject is female. So since I'm a woman I would also say "Je suis arrivée ..."

In the first situation "bloquée" is feminine, in the second one "bloqué" is masculine.
