Any native English speakers, please help answer this question. Thanks
He made a good impression on me.= I had a good impression of him?
Is this right? Does the phrase " to have a good impression of someone" make sense?

Yes, it is a very common expression. When a person is "impressed" by someone, it can be expressed: "He made a very good impression on me." or "After I met him, I had a good impression of him." Also, a person can have a "bad" impression. "I have a very bad impression of Donald Trump."
