I would like to know why it is wrong to say ""After I took the medicine, it wasn't too long for it to kick in" and"After I took the medicine, it didn't take too long for it to kick in"
Why can't I use "IT" wasn't/didn'take here? Isn't it functioning as a dummy subject? As in: "It took me a while to learn that" and "It didn take long for the rumour to get"... Both sentences have a dummy subject, don't they? Why are those correct, but "After I took the medicine, it didn't take too long for it to kick in" isn't?

""After I took the medicine, IT wasn't too long before it kicked in" > The time is not long before...
After I took the medicine, IT didn't TAKE LONG FOR IT to kick in"> Medicine did not take long ...
