It is inspirational or it was inspirational? So I have to write about talking about an event. "The event was fun and inspirational." The thing is, the event still inspires me now, and later in my writing I will say how inspirational it is(was) and how due to the event I will be doing more community service in the future. I don't know whether to use present or past tense when I say the event is/was inspirational. Plus, is it "the event has inspired me" or "the event had inspired me"?

Because you haven't done the extra community service you plan to do in the future, you should say "The event has inspired me to do more community service in the future.", or something along those lines. If you had already done the service you plan to do, you would say "the event had inspired me to do more community service." You are feeling inspiration now right? Therefore present tense is best! "The event has inspired me" Hope this helps Good luck!

later in my writing I will say how inspirational it is(was) later - past tense - was has inspired Had the event inspired you, it would suggest something else. (The news is terrible about this. They always speak as if everything is now.)
