It means the year. It can be 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009. The speaker is not sure which.

If the number is mean the year ，you just read every single number，EX：the year of the2001，二零零一年。
If it is the price，you should add unit，like thousand千，hundred百，ten十。EX：this phone is 2001yuan，这个手机两千零一元。
Another example，2010yuan，两千零一十元。2100yuan，两千一百元。2110yuan，两千一百一十元。my english not very well，I can only give you some example， I hope it can help you . smile~
