Senence meaning 'He looks poised to be impreached over dodgy government accounting.' Does this sentence mean 'he is about to be accused for the accounting problem'? I'm not quite sure how the word 'poised' is used in the sentence above. Thank you in advance!

Poised means "about to" Imagine runners in the Olympics. Before they are running they are poised to run.

impeached has no "r" in it. im·peach\im-ˈpēch\ verb : to charge (a public official) with a crime done while in office : to cause doubts about the truthfulness of (a witness, testimony, etc.)

You are right. He is calm and he is controlling his behavior because he is convinced that is being preached over dodgy government accounting.
