"Put on reserve" vs "reserve"
Hi! Do these two phrases have the same meaning? What do they mean? (The context is a library)
1. put a book on reserve
2. reserve a book
Thank you!

The second one makes more sense than the first. To reserve is to put on hold. Therefore if you were to reserve a book, you would be putting the novel on hold for future use.
